AMS700 LGX feedback request

Post by woodbadgejim » Sun Mar 29, 2020 6:38 pm

I got the AMS 700 LGX with the two 18cm implants using the top side surgery (not scrotal). It has been eight weeks and so far it works as advertised! Just a few observation/questions here. I still have a large bulky scar about three inches from the surgical incision. It is still in the process of healing and I use special scar cream to hopefully make it blend in. My question is that under the scar there seems to be thick, lumpy tissue that interferes with my erection and bulges out and takes away from the expected size I was hoping for. Also, it feels like the tubing from the reservoir to the pump in the scrotum goes directly across where the scar is, so I'm not sure what I feel is scar tissue or the tube. I would have thought the tube would be buried under tissue and not noticeable. Anybody else have this. Also, lost an inch in length and only a slight improvement in girth. They say this implant can expand up to 25% in length and girth. So far I'm not seeing it! Next question is, does the length and girth improve over time as the implant is used more often and the material has a chance to expand? Anyone know? I go back to my Doc in May so I'll be asking him these questions but I thought I would reach out to others that had implants, not just AMS but Coloplast and or others. Any information would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks.

I don't have an implant but have seen many positive things about them and feel comfort in knowing that there is hope for my ED when injections stop working. Glad you joined and posted your questions here for us all to learn about. Thanks!

Welcome to the forumm woodbadgejim,

Three inches from the incision? (I assume the incision is above the penis, not in your scrotum.) What direction? Is it towards the reservoir? You can ask your surgeon if he encountered anything in that area. It is very likely that the lumpiness will resolve after a time. Massaging the scar tissue very had can speed the breakup. But if it is a different kind of tissue, caution is to be exercised. Perhaps a phone call or office visit sooner that your scheduled next visit would be advisable.

I am not sure how a "thick lumpy tissue" three inches from the incision can interfere with the erection. Can you be more descriptive?

I would think the tubing would be buried as deep as possible. Are you perhaps skinnier than your average implant recipient?

I would not be too concerned about length loss. Cycling the implant will re-stretch your internal tissues (tunica albuginea) over the next few months. This, I conclude from other men's reports. I, myself, had no length loss (comparing immediately pre-op to 6 weeks post-op).

Congratulations on getting your implant before CoViD19 shut everything down.

The scar lumpiness was not three inches from the incision; it was under the three inch incision. You are correct, is across not up and down. The scar tissue runs three inches under the scar, which itself is maybe less than an inch from the base of the penis. You are correct that massaging the scar will reduce the lumpiness. I have got a jar of expensive scar jelly which I use twice a day to rub in and massage the area. It seems to be working and by the time my mid May visit (if we are allowed out by then), I think it will be mostly gone. I now think the lump is scar tissue, not the internal tube. After some research, I am using a vacuum pump to assist in restoring length and girth. It also pumps up the head which doesn't happen with the implant alone. I also use a penis ring called the Giddy, which I got through the internet. It was working pretty well BEFORE I got the implant but I went ahead anyhow since I already paid for it (my share after Medicare). I find the GIDDY works also with the implant. It keeps the head nice and firm for when it is needed.
Overall, I'm happy with my decision, and the best part is not having to worry any more about my performance in the bedroom. THAT is a great weight off my shoulders. Thanks for checking in; I'll keep you posted on how the Doc visit goes!

Glad to hear it's working out for you and I hope you get lots of mileage on it and can put that tool to good use. Keep us informed of your journey.

How much are you supposed to use that thing to see decent results?
